Segments was our first full devising process as a company. Created as part of our degree at the Bristol School of Acting, it was the spark that ignited everything we've gone on to make together.
This immersive promenade piece split the audience into two groups, each experiencing a different version of the story. At times, the groups would swap — those in the ‘holding room’ would enter the performance space, and vice versa — creating a layered and dynamic theatrical journey.
The piece explored the tension between expectation and desire, challenging societal norms and delving into how different forms of desire can push boundaries. Rooted in our movement training, Segments was abstract, bold, and deeply collaborative. More than anything, it marked the moment we stopped being just a group of students making theatre — and became a company.
And yes — we loved the name so much, it stuck as our official company name.
We’re excited to revisit Segments in the future, developing it into a full-scale, mind-blowing production.
